Rashid Latif, a former cricketer for Pakistan, thinks that by agreeing to host India for Asia Cup matches outside of Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has bowed in to the demands of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
India has declined to visit Pakistan for the future 2023 Asia Cup.
Pakistan had threatened to boycott the Asia Cup, which has caused the Asian Cricket Council, headed by Jay Shah, to take into account a “hybrid model” for the competition.
Other teams would play their matches in Pakistan under this suggested format, but the Indian squad would play its matches abroad.
“They [the PCB] have bowed down officially [in front of India]. They can say whatever they want in media now; it doesn’t matter,” Latif said on his YouTube channel.
A source from the BCCI told that there is also a possibility that the entire Asia Cup might be shifted from Pakistan to either the UAE or Qatar.
