According to official reports, PCB is preparing to take temporary control of the Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultans. The current ownership agreement of the franchise will end on December 31, 2025.
Once this happens, the PCB plans to manage the team for about one year. After that, Multan Sultans will be offered to new owners through an auction in 2027. A final policy decision on this plan is expected to be announced soon.
This development comes after ongoing disagreements between the board and the existing franchise owners. Although the exact details have not been made public, the differences appear serious enough to bring major changes to the way one of the PSL’s strongest teams will operate.
Multan Sultans have been a leading franchise in recent seasons, performing well on the field and building a loyal fan base. Because of this, the decision to shift control marks a significant moment for the league.
If the PCB takes charge, the board will handle all management matters, including team operations, finances, and cricket-related planning, until new owners take over.
This transition period will play an important role in maintaining stability and ensuring that the team continues to perform competitively.
The planned auction in 2027 is expected to attract multiple business groups interested in owning a major PSL franchise. Fans and analysts are now watching closely to see how this change will affect the team and the league.
