PIA Flight Forget to Carry Body of 6-Year-Old Child from Islamabad

Upon arriving in Skardu on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, a family was devastated to discover that the body of their six-year-old son had been mistakenly left at the Islamabad airport.

Ibrahim Asadi, a relative of the deceased, explained that Wajahat had been undergoing treatment at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi. Unfortunately, he passed away on Thursday. The family had arranged for his body to be transported with them to their hometown in Kharmang for burial. Despite completing the cargo arrangements early on Friday morning, the flight departed without loading the body.

The distressing oversight became apparent only after the family arrived in Skardu, causing immense grief and anger among the relatives. Upon inquiry at the Skardu airport, PIA authorities admitted to forgetting to load the body onto the plane. The news shocked the boy’s mother, causing her to faint, and the family protested against the airline’s negligence.

In response to their protest, PIA authorities arranged for some family members to return to Islamabad. They assured the family that the body would be sent to Skardu the following day. The incident has left the family traumatized and seeking accountability for the airline’s mistake.
