Emirates, a renowned airline in the world today, received significant assistance from another airline when it was first established. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) played a crucial role in supporting Emirates during its early stages and has maintained a close partnership ever since.
Emirates approached PIA with its concept for a new airline and requested substantial support. With a budget of $10 million, Emirates was able to lease two aircraft and receive administrative and engineering assistance from PIA to operate the airline.
The two aircraft that Emirates initially rented from PIA were a Boeing 737–300 and an Airbus A300B4-200.
While Emirates has achieved tremendous success and become a major player in the aviation industry, it is important to acknowledge its humble beginnings and the instrumental support provided by PIA at the start of its journey.
