PIA has announced a new opportunity for young pilots by starting a fresh Cadet Pilot Program. This new step aims to bring new talent into the national airline as it works to overcome a shortage of cockpit crew and improve its flight services.
Under this program, PIA plans to hire 24 cadet pilots on a two-year contract. Those who are selected will have the chance to begin their flying journey with the country’s flag carrier, giving them valuable experience and training.
To qualify, interested candidates must already have at least 200 hours of flying experience and hold a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Additionally, selected cadets will have to submit a bond of $15,000 as a commitment to follow the airline’s rules and stay dedicated to their duties.
PIA’s management believes this recruitment is key to meeting future demands as the airline plans to restore more international flights, especially to Europe and the UK. Alongside the cadet program, PIA is also hiring 20 experienced commercial pilots to handle immediate operational needs.
All aspiring pilots are advised to send their applications to the airline’s HR department within 15 days of the announcement. This drive follows an earlier opening for First Officer positions that attracted hundreds of applicants, showing strong interest in flying careers across Pakistan.
With this initiative, PIA hopes to boost its workforce and get ready to reconnect Pakistan with major global destinations like London, Paris, and Manchester using its Boeing 777 fleet.
