PIA Resumes from Dubai to Skardu

PIA has restarted its direct flight service from Dubai to Skardu, with the first flight taking off on May 30, 2025. This new connection brings international travelers closer to one of Pakistan’s most stunning tourist destinations in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The launch of the flight was celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony at PIA’s office in Dubai. The event was attended by H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, along with several foreign tourists who were part of the inaugural flight. Their presence reflected the growing global interest in Pakistan’s beautiful northern areas.

The ceremony was hosted by PIA’s Regional Manager, Sarmad Aizaz, and his team, who warmly welcomed the guests and shared the airline’s vision to make Skardu more accessible to international visitors. The direct flight is expected to make travel easier and faster for tourists from the UAE, encouraging more people to explore the region’s natural beauty, culture, and hospitality.

This step is seen as a major boost for tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, a region known for its majestic mountains, valleys, and adventure opportunities. It also strengthens the relationship between Pakistan and the UAE, by improving travel links and encouraging people-to-people contact.

With this new route, PIA hopes to support local tourism, create economic opportunities in the north, and make Pakistan a top destination for nature lovers and travelers from around the world.
