Pakistan International Airlines has chosen to resume two weekly flights to Sydney as the Oceanian country welcomes international tourists after a two-year absence.
According to local media reports quoting a PIA spokeswoman, the national flag carrier planned to operate the flights initially from Lahore and Karachi to the port city of Sydney, with flights from the federal capital also planned.
The effort will reduce travel time by approximately one-third. According to Abdullah Hafeez, the airline is conducting a feasibility assessment and will launch direct flights for the first time.
According to reports, direct flights would begin in late March or early April, but the airline has yet to acquire approval from the Australian aviation authority.
