PIA has decided to temporarily cut down its flight operations on the Lahore–Paris route because of low passenger demand.
The airline announced that the last two flights from Lahore to Paris will take place on September 12 and September 17. After that, no flights will operate on this route for the time being.
However, PIA clarified that flights from Islamabad to Paris will continue without any changes. This ensures that passengers traveling to France from Pakistan still have an option available.
The Lahore–Paris flights had only been launched in June 2024, with two weekly services. But due to a decline in bookings, the airline had to make this adjustment.
At the same time, PIA is also focusing on its UK operations. The airline has taken two aircraft off the Lahore–Paris route and is currently renovating and upgrading them to meet international standards. These planes will soon be used for flights to Manchester, United Kingdom.
PIA officials have shared that they are working on obtaining the Third Country Operators (TCO) authorization from the UK aviation authorities. The approval is expected by mid-September, which will allow PIA to resume flights to Manchester after a long gap.
The airline has assured passengers that these steps are part of its wider plan to improve services, use resources more efficiently, and restart international routes that are in higher demand. PIA says it is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and reliable travel options for its passengers worldwide.
