PIA has restarted its direct flights from Lahore to Paris after a gap of five years. This follows the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) decision to lift the ban on PIA’s operations in Europe, which had been in place for several years.
The first flight, PK-733, recently took off from Lahore with 276 passengers on board. It was operated using a newly refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft. Earlier this year, PIA had already resumed its Islamabad to Paris flights and is now working towards restarting its flights to the United Kingdom as well.
The return of the Lahore-Paris route is expected to strengthen tourism, trade, and cultural connections between Pakistan and France. It also marks a positive step for Pakistan’s national airline as it works to rebuild its reputation and services in the international market.
While the airline had faced criticism over a past promotional ad related to Paris, which led to a public apology, this new development shows PIA’s ongoing efforts to improve and reconnect with key global destinations.
