PM Imran Khan Orders Soft Long-Term Visas for Foreign Investors

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting on the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and investment promotion in Pakistan on Sunday, saying that the strategic alliance between the two friendly countries is “exemplary” for the world.

“It is vital to promote investment in areas of mutual interest and provide all available incentives to investors in order to develop these relations into strong economic connections,” the premier added.

According to the prime minister, CPEC is not only a harbinger of economic progress for Pakistan, but also a path to regional prosperity.

Details on the many investment programs under the CPEC, the government’s facilities for Chinese investors, and the challenges experienced by investors and their quick answers were discussed at the meeting.

The prime minister asked responsible authorities to take immediate action to remove barriers to the issue of long-term visas to international investors, particularly Chinese investors, and to create a separate visa category for those involved in CPEC projects.
