Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set August 9 as the date for dissolving the National Assembly. He had a dinner meeting with coalition allies to discuss the country’s political situation and the upcoming general elections.
PM Shehbaz Sharif informed them that he will send the National Assembly’s dissolution summary to the President on August 9. He also mentioned that consultations for appointing a caretaker Prime Minister will start from tomorrow and aims to complete the process within 2 to 3 days.
The current term of the National Assembly is set to end on August 12 at 12 o’clock. The Election Commission stated that if the assembly is dissolved by August 12, the elections will be held before October 11.
