Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who arrived in Islamabad for a four-day official visit, virtually inaugurated the newly completed Gwadar International Airport. Sharif described the airport as “a gift from China.”
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Prime Minister House, where both leaders unveiled the airport’s plaque. The event was attended by various delegations, ministers, military officials, and senior government leaders. Premier Li highlighted the airport’s completion as a key achievement, praising the teamwork between China and Pakistan.
In addition to the airport’s inauguration, Pakistan and China signed 13 agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in several important areas, including security, education, agriculture, and technology. The leaders discussed strengthening ties between the two nations, particularly through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has been a cornerstone of their partnership.
These agreements represent a significant step in deepening bilateral relations, reflecting the strong friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The completion of Gwadar International Airport and the new agreements mark further progress in Pakistan’s development under the CPEC initiative, which continues to promote economic growth and infrastructure development in the region.
