PM Shehbaz Sharif Opens Azad Kashmir’s First Ever State of Art Cancer Hospital

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has officially inaugurated Azad Kashmir’s first state-of-the-art cancer hospital, Kinor (KINOR), a landmark project by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC).

The hospital aims to provide advanced cancer diagnosis and treatment services to thousands of patients from Azad Kashmir and the Hazara Division, reducing the need for long-distance travel for specialized care.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by top leaders, including Acting President Chaudhry Latif Akbar and Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore. PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality medical treatment across Pakistan.

Kinor Hospital is the 21st cancer project launched by PAEC, expanding its nationwide network of 20 cancer hospitals. The facility is equipped with modern diagnostic tools, radiotherapy machines, chemotherapy units, and other advanced cancer treatment technologies, making it one of the most modern cancer hospitals in the region.

Healthcare experts note that the new Azad Kashmir cancer hospital will significantly improve early detection, treatment, and survival rates for cancer patients. It will also serve as a hub for medical training, research, and awareness campaigns, strengthening the region’s healthcare system.

The opening of Kinor Hospital in Azad Kashmir marks a historic step in providing world-class cancer care to underserved communities. With its advanced facilities and expert medical staff, the hospital promises to transform cancer treatment in the region and improve healthcare outcomes for thousands of patients.
