PM Shehbaz Sharif Opens Azad Kashmir’s First Ever State of Art Cancer Hospital

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has inaugurated Azad Kashmir’s first modern cancer hospital, known as Kinor (KINOR). This important healthcare project has been developed under the leadership of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and marks a major step forward for medical services in the region.

Kinor is PAEC’s 21st cancer treatment facility across the country. The hospital is designed to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care, and is expected to serve thousands of patients from Azad Kashmir as well as nearby areas, including the Hazara Division. With advanced medical equipment and specialised services, the facility aims to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for quality cancer treatment.

During the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister was received by senior leadership from Azad Kashmir. Among those present were Acting President Chaudhry Latif Akbar and Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, along with other officials and representatives.

The opening of this hospital further strengthens PAEC’s nationwide network of 20 cancer hospitals, helping bring high-quality healthcare closer to local communities. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to improve public health infrastructure and provide timely, affordable, and reliable cancer care to people in underserved regions.
