PM to Provide Major Relief in Electricity Bills Ahead of Summer

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a plan to lower electricity prices to help reduce the financial pressure on consumers. He explained that the government wants to share the benefits of changes in global oil prices with the public by making electricity more affordable.

The relief package is being designed to provide some financial relief, especially during a time when inflation is making it harder for people to manage their expenses. Although the exact details of the plan are still being finalized, the Prime Minister assured that the government’s main focus is the well-being of the people. The goal is to make power tariffs more affordable so that households and businesses can better manage their electricity bills.

At the same time, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a request for a monthly fuel price adjustment for February. This adjustment could also impact electricity prices, depending on fuel costs.

The official announcement of the relief package is expected in the coming weeks. Once finalized, it is hoped that this initiative will provide much-needed support to consumers, helping them cope with high living costs while ensuring a stable electricity supply.
