PMD Forecasts More Rain Across the Country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted widespread rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across the country on Thursday, indicating a significant shift in weather conditions in multiple regions.

According to the forecast, provinces and regions including Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Islamabad are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall. Additionally, several districts in Punjab and Sindh may also experience intermittent showers accompanied by gusty winds.

The department has further warned that upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parts of southern Balochistan could witness heavy downpours, hailstorms, and lightning, raising the risk of localized flooding and damage to standing crops. In mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, snowfall is also likely, which may disrupt travel and daily activities.

Authorities have cautioned that strong winds and hail may cause damage to infrastructure, trees, and agricultural lands, while landslides remain a potential threat in vulnerable hilly areas. Citizens, especially travelers and residents in high-risk zones, are advised to remain vigilant, follow safety guidelines, and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.
