PMD Predicted Heavy Rains in Many Parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall before the monsoon season in the country from June 25th to June 30th, 2023. While most of the plains will remain hot and humid, the upper and central regions of the country can expect heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.

Today, Islamabad and Kashmir are expected to experience rainfall, although the weather will remain warm during the day. Moreover, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab may experience scorching heat in most districts.

Rainfall is likely to occur in various areas such as Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Haripur, Mardan, Noshehra, Swabi, Bannu, D.I Khan, Karam, Laki Marwat, and Kohat.

Strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in Attock, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Chakwal, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Murree, and Gilgit.

Dusty winds and thunderstorms are also anticipated in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, D.G. Khan, Bhakkar, and Faisalabad. Sindh can expect hot weather during the day and winds in the evening. Karachi might also experience light rainfall.

Yesterday, there were recorded rainfall amounts of 17 mm in Muzaffarabad, 07 mm at the Airport, 04 mm in Rawalakot, 15 mm in Malam Jabba, 12 mm in Balakot, and 05 mm in Saidu Sharif.
