Polio Vaccination Made Mandatory for Umrah Pilgrims from Pakistan

Saudi Arabia Makes Polio Vaccination Mandatory for Umrah Pilgrims from Pakistan

The Saudi government has made it compulsory for Umrah pilgrims from Pakistan to get vaccinated against polio before traveling. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised all travelers to receive the vaccine at least four weeks before their departure and to carry proof of vaccination with them.

According to Saudi health guidelines, visitors from countries where polio is still a concern, including Pakistan, must take an oral polio vaccine (OPV) at least six weeks before traveling. Additionally, they will be required to take another dose of the vaccine upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Failure to comply with these vaccination requirements may lead to serious issues, including travel disruptions or legal consequences. To ensure a smooth journey, airlines and Umrah tour operators are responsible for checking that all travelers meet the vaccination requirements before departure.

This decision has been taken to protect public health and prevent the spread of polio. Pilgrims are strongly advised to follow these guidelines to avoid any last-minute complications.
