On Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The ceremony, held at the Presidential Palace, also recognized the achievements and sacrifices of both military and civilian leaders, as well as martyrs and participants in the “Marka-i-Haq” conflict with India, which took place from April 22 until the ceasefire on May 10 under Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Among the top military honors, Field Marshal Asim Munir received the Hilal-i-Jurat, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and General Sahir Shamshad Mirza were awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military). In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was honored with the civilian Nishan-i-Imtiaz for his outstanding contributions.
