Prime Minister & the business community agreed to enhance tax revenue

All of the country’s major Chambers of Commerce have expressed satisfaction with the government’s pro-business policies and actions to make conducting business easier.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and all the major Chambers of Commerce met in Islamabad to express their delight. The government and the business community also pledged to develop a strategy for increasing tax income.

Imran Khan stated that adjustments to the tax system are in the works and that dialogue with all stakeholders will speed up the process. The Prime Minister instructed the Federal Ministers to maintain communication with all stakeholders and to meet with them regularly to listen to their concerns and recommendations. He stated that the government is now concentrating on finding solutions through mutual consultation.

They also praised the government’s initiative to directly listen to the business community’s recommendations for the first time while also pointing out obstacles in the business that have previously caused a chasm between the government and the business community.

The meeting’s participants praised the Prime Minister and his economic team for achieving 4% GDP growth despite Covid-19, a 15% increase in large-scale manufacturing, incentives for the export industry and the removal of barriers, State Bank of Pakistan incentives for small and medium enterprises, and providing the business community with the opportunity to benefit from trade pots.
