Private Hajj is much more expensive than before and is probably going to cost more than Rs.34 lacs. According to Aftab Ahmad Durrani, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, private Hajj operators have created 12 packages, with the least expensive one costing 11 lac 80 thousand rupees and the most expensive one costing nearly 3.5 million. A pilgrim will need to pay more, though, if they require more amenities than those listed.
According to Dr. Attaur Rehman, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Hajj operator will be entitled to spend more than 34 lacs if a pilgrim wants to remain alone in a five-star hotel.
The price of performing the Hajj has been estimated at Rs1.175 million per pilgrimage, with a 68% rise in costs permitted by the Pakistani government. Due to the severe economic crisis, the government has permitted outsourcing the funding of half of the quota in order to save $444 million.
Depending on the price of different packages and the number of applications submitted, the sponsorship program for the government’s Hajj quota is anticipated to produce about $194 million, and the private Hajj program is anticipated to create more than $250 million.
