Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government has given as much relief as possible to the lower-income and salaried groups in the upcoming 2025–26 budget. In a recent interview, he shared that major efforts have been made to reduce government expenses, and he personally takes full responsibility for all the financial figures shared in the budget.
To make things easier for working individuals, the government will soon introduce a simpler tax return form, with only 8 to 9 columns, specifically designed for salaried people.
He also mentioned that the government is open to making changes if any part of the budget does not perform well. In addition, a new carbon levy will be introduced to encourage the use of clean and renewable energy sources. He further shared that the next National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting is expected to take place by August.
