It was taught that Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has chosen solar energy as an unlimited source of revenue in a huge network of retail stores, depots, and filling facilities across the country.
PSO wants to transition its retail and bulk storage systems to solar-powered distribution to reduce reliance on electrical power supply, according to the official organisation.
“We’ve asked for suggestions that assess the cost-effectiveness and value that might be relevant to an investment model for the installation in retail stores of a 25 MW combined solar system with the potential for 10 MW of additional oil storage facilities around the country,” an official said.
In addition, the country’s largest oil marketing firm has already established a charging station and aims to build two more charging stations this year.
“The years 2025-30 will be remembered for Pakistan’s electric car boom, and PSO is ready to meet the demand for charging stations,” said a PSO officer.
Power loading terminals installed at PSO’s existing facilities would reduce the company’s dependency on erratic grid supply and save money.
PSO focuses on accelerating climate change initiatives and leading Pakistan’s sustainable energy transition to greener fuels.
