Telenor Pakistan has been recently fined Rs. 50 million by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), as per sources.
“Fine on Telenor was levied owing to non-adherence of the applicable regulatory framework while suffering major communication services breakdown in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK),” PTA said in a statement.
Telenor was fined by the PTA for the unavailability of cellular services in AJK and GB for a period of time, according to PTA.
However, it is to remembered that Telenor services in AJK were shut down by FBR due to a tax dispute. Telenor offices were shut for non-payment of Rs. 2.85 billion in taxes, according to the FBR.
