PTA Just Made Calls Free in These Areas

PTA has announced that mobile users in flood-affected regions can now make free on-net calls.

This means people living in these areas can connect with others on the same network without worrying about mobile balance. The decision comes as part of a relief measure to support families struggling with the impact of heavy floods.

Telecom services in many areas were badly disrupted due to damaged infrastructure, making it difficult for people to reach out for help.

PTA shared that restoring communication has been a top priority, and so far, more than 72% of affected telecom sites are back in service. Work is still underway to restore the remaining sites.

The step aims to ensure that those facing financial and physical hardships are not cut off from their loved ones or emergency services.

PTA has assured that it is closely monitoring the situation and working with mobile operators to improve connectivity. The authority also promised to keep the public informed through timely updates.

By allowing free same-network calls, PTA is making sure that people in flood-hit areas stay connected when they need it the most. This move highlights the importance of communication in times of crisis and reflects ongoing efforts to ease the challenges faced by affected communities.
