Pakistan’s Digital Video Over-The-Top (OTT) landscape is about to grow bigger as PTCL announces its own video streaming platform in the country.
The new Digital Video Over-The-Top (OTT) platform is being launched in collaboration with UAE based company, evision – the media and entertainment wing of global telecom services provider, e& that PTCL promises, will offer the richest collection of Hollywood and Pakistani content and 100 most viewed news, sports and kids channels to cater to the diverse viewing needs of customers.
UAE’s evision is the leading provider of media and entertainment content in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It leads a consortium that has the majority shares in the leading video streaming platform in MENA, StarzPlay that will provide technical assistance to PTCL in deploying the new platform to host movies and seasons from leading Hollywood studios in addition to Pakistani films and dramas, and news and children content.
The agreement was signed by Group Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL & Ufone, Adnan Anjum and Chief Executive Officer, evision, Olivier Bramly during GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai. President and Group CEO, PTCL & Ufone, Hatem Bamatraf and Chief Executive Officer, e& life, Khalifa Al Shamsi and other senior executives also attended the ceremony.
