Public Holiday Announced in Lahore Tomorrow

To honor the yearly Urs festivities of Hazrat Shah Hussain, known as Madhu Lal Hussain, the provincial government has announced a public holiday in Lahore on March 2, 2024 (Saturday).

The 436th annual three-day celebration to honor the life and teachings of Madhu Lal Hussain will kick off in Lahore. The esteemed Secretary of Auqaf, Dr. Tahir Raza, will inaugurate the event by laying a traditional chador at the saint’s grave.

This ceremonial gesture marks the beginning of the revered occasion, with devotees and religious leaders coming together to pay their respects.

Various religious committees, scholars, and a large number of devotees are expected to actively participate in the festivities, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and unity.

Madhu Lal Hussain’s teachings hold significant importance for the community, attracting people from all backgrounds to join in the celebrations.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, the Auqaf Department has allocated a budget of Rs459,000 for the Urs grant, showcasing the government’s dedication to preserving the traditions associated with the annual event.

Furthermore, local law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with the Auqaf Department, have implemented stringent security measures to ensure the safety of all attendees.

As Lahore prepares to embrace the spiritual essence of the Urs celebrations, authorities are optimistic that the event will serve as a source of inspiration, promoting unity and harmony among the city’s diverse population.
