The Punjab government has set aside Rs. 4 billion to provide free solar panels for households across the province. This program aims to ease energy shortages and promote eco-friendly power.
Households using up to 200 units of electricity per month will qualify for free solar panels. Those consuming between 200 and 500 units will only need to pay 10% of the panel cost upfront, with the remaining amount covered by the government through interest-free payments over five years.
This initiative is expected to cut electricity bills by as much as 40%, helping families manage energy costs while reducing dependence on conventional electricity sources. It reflects the government’s commitment to tackling the energy crisis and supporting renewable energy.
In addition to the solar program, the Punjab government has allocated Rs. 40 million to construct a new sports complex in Judicial Colony. Plans also include significant funding to upgrade facilities at Nishtar Park and enhance a sports complex in the R2 Block of Johar Town.
This comprehensive approach, focusing on both energy and community development, highlights the government’s efforts to improve quality of life and foster sustainable progress for Punjab’s residents.
