Punjab CM Approves Pakistan’s First Chief Minister Dialysis Program Card

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting to review health projects and approved the launch of the first-ever Chief Minister Dialysis Program Card. This program will increase financial support for dialysis treatment to 10 lakh rupees per patient, with 8.5 lakh allocated for dialysis sessions and 1.5 lakh for tests related to kidney diseases.

The Chief Minister also instructed health authorities to ensure free medicines and tests for dialysis patients. She emphasized the importance of maintaining proper procedures and standards at dialysis centers to improve patient care.

To further enhance kidney disease treatment, plans were discussed to set up additional dialysis units across Punjab. Expressing concern over dialysis treatments being halted due to a lack of funds, Maryam Nawaz called this situation unacceptable and stressed the need for immediate solutions.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed the modernization of PIC-2 (Punjab Institute of Cardiology) and upgrades to the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital. She highlighted the importance of introducing advanced technology and providing specialized training to medical staff to improve heart disease care.

These initiatives reflect the Punjab government’s commitment to improving healthcare services for patients suffering from serious illnesses like kidney and heart diseases. By increasing funding and expanding facilities, the government aims to ensure that patients receive the treatment they need without financial hardships.
