Punjab Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday visited Sakhi Sarwar (DG Khan) in a whirlwind of events, where he had meetings with members of the assembly, PTI office-bearers, staff, notables and other delegations.
The Chief Minister also announced a number of development projects in the region and witnessed the signing of an MoU to build 13 small dams to be built over hill torrents in the DG Khan district of the Koh-e-Suleman area.
Notable of the area told him about the issues, needs of Sakhi Sarwar and its environment and gave their suggestions. The Chief Minister listened to their recommendations and gave orders for immediate redressal to the authorities concerned.
Usman Buzdar said that according to the needs of each district of Punjab, the development package was planned.
He declared Rs. 125 crore for the preparation of the feasibility report for the construction of 13 Dara small and intermediate dams. Four intermediate dams will be built in Koh-e-Suleman under a phase-wise program, and construction work on the first dam will begin in June.
He further stated that at a cost of Rs. 11 crore 70 lakh, Sakhi Sarwar Hospital was being upgraded. In the emergency department, all emergency services will be provided. Recruitment has been approved for the Border Military Police and Baloch Levies. Apart from supplying the police with new cars, new police stations will be set up in the city.
