The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has set a new record by registering the most expensive vehicle in its history a luxury SUV worth Rs. 176 million.
According to Director Shahid Gilani, this single registration brought in an unbelievable fee of Rs. 94.41 million. It is the highest amount ever collected by the department from a single vehicle registration.
The previous record was set in 2023, when a Range Rover variant was registered with a fee of Rs. 9.11 million. The latest amount has completely broken that record and created a new milestone for the department.
The SUV was registered by a Gujranwala resident, Ahmed Waqas. Along with the registration, he also obtained a special number plate, making his vehicle stand out even more.
The officials shared that such high-value registrations not only create history but also make a huge contribution to the province’s revenue collection.
Meanwhile, the Motor Branch Lahore continues to play a major role in revenue generation. In just the first two months of the current fiscal year, it has managed to collect more than Rs. 5 billion, proving itself to be the strongest branch when it comes to performance and efficiency.
This registration is being seen as a big achievement for the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department, showing the growing demand for luxury vehicles in Pakistan and the willingness of wealthy individuals to pay high taxes and fees.
It also reflects how luxury trends are influencing the automobile market while strengthening government revenue collection at the same time.
