The Punjab government has announced a special financial allowance for select employees of the Crime Control Department (CCD), aiming to reward those actively working to maintain law and order across the province.
According to a recent notification issued by the Home Department, the provincial cabinet has officially approved the extra allowance, which will be calculated based on the 2011 basic pay scale. This move is part of a larger effort to appreciate the critical work of frontline law enforcement officers.
However, the benefit will not apply to all CCD employees. The allowance is strictly for active staff members who meet specific criteria. Officers currently on deputation, suspended from duty, or on extended leave will not be eligible. Similarly, individuals serving as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) have been excluded from the scheme.
The Home Department clarified that the goal is to support those directly involved in crime control efforts and counter-terrorism operations within Punjab. The department recognized the high-risk responsibilities these officers face daily and believes the financial reward is a step toward boosting morale.
Officials also mentioned that detailed instructions regarding how and when the allowance will be distributed will soon be shared with the concerned administrative branches.
This special allowance reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening key departments responsible for public safety and ensuring that hardworking officers receive the recognition they deserve.
