The Punjab government has decided to include complex liver surgery in the health card program. The health card program will also include complex heart surgery for children. An increase in the amount of treatment approved through the hearth card.
It has been decided by the Punjab government that complex liver surgery will be included in the health card. Moreover, experts from government hospitals as well as private hospitals will also assist in complex surgery. According to the Punjab government, the program will include cardiac surgery of small children with the support of private hospitals.
The card, which is under the PTI’s Sehat Sahulat Program, was part of a health insurance scheme. First launched by the ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in 2016. The program has now extended to the federal capital, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Qaumi Sehat Card/Sehat Sahulat Programme covered open heart surgeries, stent insertion, cancer management, neurosurgical procedures, burn management, accident management, dialysis, intensive care management, deliveries, C-section, and other medical/surgical procedures up to Rs1 million per family per year. There is an inter-provincial/inter-district portability facility for obtaining free treatment from over 600 empanelled hospitals in Pakistan.
