Punjab Govt to Provide 20 Litres Petrol Subsidy Every Month

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major relief package to help people deal with rising global fuel prices. The initiative is part of an austerity programme introduced under Shehbaz Sharif.

Under this package, all public transport services in Punjab will be free of charge. This includes the Orange Line Train, Metro Bus, Speedo Bus, and Green Electric Bus. The goal is to reduce travel costs for the public and encourage people to use public transport instead of private vehicles.

The government has also announced support for farmers. Those who own up to 25 acres of land will receive a diesel subsidy of Rs100 per litre per acre. This step aims to reduce farming costs and support agricultural activities during this difficult time.

In addition, motorcyclists will benefit from a petrol subsidy of Rs100 for every 20 litres. Citizens have been advised to register their motorcycles in their own names to become eligible for this relief.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the government understands the financial challenges faced by people due to rising fuel prices. She assured that the government is taking steps to provide relief and support during this global crisis.

She also encouraged citizens to prefer public transport to help save fuel and reduce expenses. This move is expected to ease the burden on households and improve access to affordable transportation.
