Quaid-e-Azam’s 1924 Rolls Royce goes on display

The Heritage Club of Motoring Pakistan displayed rare and antique vehicles at Frere Hall in Karachi (HCMP).

The day-long annual event, which was organised in collaboration with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, featured over 100 antique and uncommon vehicles (KMC).

A 1924 model Rolls-Royce automobile credited to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was also on show.

The car belonged to the Nawab of Bahawalpur at the time, and it was used by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Lord Mountbatten to travel to the Sindh Assembly for the handover ceremony and the Governor General’s inauguration.

Karim Chapra, the car’s current owner, says he purchased it from the Nawab of Bahawalpur’s collection in 2004.

The automobile has only travelled 9,000 kilometres and has received minor cosmetic improvements such as paint and interior upkeep.
