Rain Showers Expected in Lahore, Islamabad and Several Areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Heavy rain hit Lahore and several other cities in Punjab, causing the temperature to drop noticeably. In Lahore, Gulshan Ravi recorded the highest rainfall with 38mm followed by Gulberg with 36mm and Iqbal Town with 34mm.

The heavy rain was accompanied by strong winds, which caused power outages in some areas and disrupted daily life.

The Meteorological Department has warned that more rain is likely in the coming hours along with the possibility of hailstorms in different parts of the country.

Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to see rainfall today. Coastal areas of Balochistan may also experience light showers.

Authorities have advised people to remain cautious during this period of bad weather. Drivers should be careful on wet roads and citizens should avoid going out unless necessary.

It is also recommended to keep mobile phones charged and have emergency contact numbers handy in case of power outages or other emergencies.

The rain has brought relief from the scorching heat in many parts of the province but it has also caused minor disruptions in traffic and daily activities.

Trees and loose structures may fall in some areas due to strong winds so residents should stay alert. Farmers may benefit from this rainfall as it can help crops but sudden hailstorms could damage standing crops in some areas.

Officials continue to monitor the situation and are ready to respond to emergencies caused by heavy rainfall. People are advised to follow weather updates and warnings issued by the Meteorological Department to stay safe.
