Rain, Thunderstorms Expected in Northern and Central Pakistan Until August 10

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the upper and central parts of the country, lasting until August 10.

Rain is expected in areas including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and some parts of Balochistan. Meanwhile, Sindh will continue to experience hot and humid weather. Coastal areas in Sindh may also see partly cloudy skies during this period.

In response to the weather situation, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued flood warnings. These alerts apply to major rivers like the Chenab, Jhelum, and Kabul, as well as several smaller streams in Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan.

Officials are advising residents to stay alert, especially in flood-prone regions. There is a risk of flash floods and rapidly rising water levels in areas such as Hunza, Shigar, Zhob, and Musa Khel.

The public is urged to follow safety instructions from local authorities and take precautions in areas likely to be affected by the weather. Travelers and residents in hilly or low-lying areas should remain cautious and keep an eye on weather updates.

Emergency services are on high alert to respond quickly in case of any disaster. The government is also monitoring the situation closely and has advised all concerned departments to stay prepared to deal with any possible emergency.

People are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel to affected areas and protect themselves and their property from the possible impacts of the heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
