Rare Pod of Four Bryde’s Whales Spotted Near Gwadar Coast

An exciting and unusual event occurred near Pakistan’s Gwadar coast when four Bryde’s whales were spotted swimming in the waters. This rare sighting has created excitement among marine life experts and local fishermen in the area.

The discovery was made by a fishing crew led by Captain Amir Dad Karim. While fishing near an area called Demi Zur, the captain and his crew noticed unusual movement in the water approximately five kilometers north of where they were working.

Curious about what they were seeing, the fishing crew moved closer to investigate. What they witnessed was extraordinary, four large whales surfacing from the water and swimming toward the coast. For the fishermen, this was a memorable and thrilling moment they likely won’t forget.

WWF-Pakistan, the country’s leading wildlife conservation organization, confirmed that the whales were Bryde’s whales. These are a specific species of baleen whale that are not commonly seen in Pakistani waters, making this sighting particularly special.

According to marine experts, the whales were probably following schools of fish that had moved closer to the shore. Bryde’s whales feed on fish and other small marine creatures, so they travel to areas where food is abundant.

This sighting is positive news for Pakistan’s marine ecosystem. It shows that the waters near Gwadar can support large marine mammals and may indicate healthy fish populations in the area.

Such rare wildlife encounters remind us of the importance of protecting ocean environments and the diverse creatures that live in them.
