Rather then Eating Sleeping Pills, Try having Cherries

The fruit may aid your sleep. Studies have shown that high levels of melatonin can help with increased sleep time and overall sleep efficiency.

Cherries also contain vitamin A, vitamin C, and magnesium, making them an excellent addition to your diet.

But, before you eat a bowl of cherries, registered dietitian Beth Czerwony, RD, explains how to eat them and the other advantages of the superfood.

Tart cherries can help you sleep by increasing your levels of melatonin, a sleep hormone. Melatonin, which is naturally produced in your body by your brain’s pineal gland and can be taken as a supplement, helps to regulate your body’s sleep-wake cycle.

Tart cherries contain trace amounts of melatonin and tryptophan, an amino acid involved in the production of serotonin and melatonin.
