Heavy rainfall has caused serious flooding in different parts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The rising water levels in Nullah Lai and nearby low-lying areas have put residents at risk. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Islamabad’s H-8 sector recorded nearly 95 millimeters of rain, while areas such as G-11 and its surroundings also experienced heavy showers.
Authorities have placed emergency teams on high alert and are prepared to carry out evacuations if needed. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also issued a warning of more heavy rains and the possibility of landslides from September 1 to 3. People living in these areas are being urged to stay away from water channels, remain alert, and strictly follow official safety guidelines to protect themselves and their families.
