Record Breaking Recovery! NAB Recovers Rs. 547 Billion in First 6 Months of 2025

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has announced record-breaking recoveries in the first half of 2025, amounting to Rs547 billion. According to a report by The News, a major portion of this Rs. 456 billion was recovered between April and June alone.

In its 2025 mid-year performance report, NAB highlighted that over the last two years, it has recovered assets worth a total of Rs5,854.73 billion. These assets include both movable and immovable properties seized from corruption cases.

A significant part of these recoveries has been returned to rightful owners, benefiting 12,611 victims who had suffered financial losses in fraud cases.

The bureau noted that this year’s performance marks a substantial improvement in its operations, showing a remarkable 700% increase compared to the total recoveries made since NAB was established.

Officials say this achievement reflects the organization’s strengthened focus on accountability, transparency, and the protection of public resources.

NAB emphasized its ongoing commitment to fighting corruption and recovering stolen public wealth. It credited recent reforms, more efficient case handling, and stricter enforcement measures for boosting recovery rates in 2025.

The report also reaffirmed NAB’s pledge to ensure that recovered funds and assets are returned to victims in a timely manner, while also preventing future cases of large-scale financial wrongdoing.

With its recent success, NAB aims to continue enhancing its investigation processes, using modern tools and strategies to track down assets hidden through complex networks.

This mid-year achievement is being viewed as a milestone in Pakistan’s anti-corruption efforts, strengthening public trust in the accountability process and showing that large-scale recoveries are possible through determined action.
