As the last ten days of Ramadan approach, authorities in Saudi Arabia have officially opened online registration for Itikaf at Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
Thousands of worshippers from around the world are expected to apply for the opportunity to observe this special act of devotion inside Islam’s holiest mosques.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced that applications will only be accepted through its official digital portal. The new system has been introduced to handle the large number of requests in an organized and transparent way.
Officials said the step was taken under the guidance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Mohammed bin Salman to ensure smooth arrangements during the sacred days.
Those wishing to perform Itikaf must create an account on the official website and submit their details online.
Due to space limitations and security planning, only a specific number of applicants will receive approval. Selected participants will be informed about the rules they must follow during their stay inside the mosque.
Itikaf begins on the 20th day of Ramadan and continues until the sighting of the Eid moon. During this period, worshippers remain inside the mosque, dedicating their time to prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.
Authorities have advised applicants to avoid unofficial links and rely only on the official platform to secure their place.
