The auto industry of Pakistan has recently called for abolishing an additional customs duty- ACD on the import of the spare parts as in the future budget.
The auto industry currently is paying around 7% of the ACD on only the import of the spare parts. However, in addition, it has been called to the auto sector just for giving the same incentives like as in hybrid vehicle policy that the government had announced in a policy of an electric vehicle (EV).
Ali Asghar Jamali, the CEO of Indus Motor said in a meeting that the government should announce the incentives for vendors in order to encourage them like the manufacturing of the spare parts of the vehicles in the country. He further added that the government should also announce an effective long-term auto policy as to attract investments by giant investors.
