The administration has introduced an electronic voting equipment that will be utilised in the upcoming election. If a hacker breaks it, the government will pay a million dollars.
Shibli Faraz, the Federal Minister of Science and Technology, declared a prize of Rs1 million for anyone who can hack an electronic voting system (EVM).
“We’ve offered a prize for hacking EVMs, but the opposition has refused to even observe the machine in action,” he stated, claiming that the machine couldn’t be hacked.
According to Shibli Faraz, their EVM machine is powered by a battery and can run for up to 24 hours.
“We sought to assuage the opposition’s concerns about the EVM, but they developed a tone of opposition to anything coming from our side.”
