CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the renovation of 71 damaged roads due to heavy rains/floods at Rs 46.3 billion in order to start the work as soon as possible.
“Repairing damaged roads, especially small ones that connect farms to market, villages to main roads, are important for easy access for people to revive the economy.”
Recently, he stated in a meeting at CM House. The huddle was attended by Labor Minister Zia Abbas Shah, Principal Secretary Sohail Rajput, P&D Chairman Hassan Naqvi, PSCM Fayaz Jatoi, Plant Secretary Imran Atta and Chief Road Engineer.
CM informed that 71 roads in 23 districts with a total length of 1473.38 kilometers were damaged due to heavy rains and floods. They include six roads of 157.7 km in Jamshoro district, five roads of 149.27 km in Dadu, three of 106.6 km in Shaheed Benazirabad, nine of 137 km Naushehro Feroze, two of 20.4 km in Hyderabad, six out of 93.8 km in Tando Allahyar out of 19 km in TM Khan, four out of 65 km in Thatta, two out of 55.5 km in Sujawal, one out of 71 km in Badin, two out of 80 km in Mirpurkhas, one out of 20 km in Umrkot, three in 46 km in Sanghar, one in 35 km in Tharparkar, fine 58 km in Sukkur, one in 9 km in Ghotki, two in 23 km in Khairpur, three in 67 km in Shikarpur, three in 45.45 km in Jacobabad, three from 52.29 km Kashmore-Kandhkot, five from 92.65 km Larkana and three from 67.2 km in Kamber-Shahdadkot.
Zia Abbas Shah Works Minister said that CM estimated the total cost of roads would be nearby Rs 46.32 billion.
The CM approved the plan and instructed P&D Chairman Hassan Naqvi to complete the process and start the work as soon as possible.
Moreover, it was also discussed that the ABD (Asian Development Bank) had also agreed to provide the finance for repairing of major roads in the province, for which the important documentation was being finalised.
