Sadaf Jaffer is the first female Muslim mayor of Montgomery Township, the N.J. that is a municipality of around 25,000 at north Princeton. Saddaf Jaffer has become the first female Muslim mayor of the country, the first South Asian-American female mayor and also the first Pakistani-American female mayor.
Jaffer, the Mayor also serves her duties as a postdoctoral research associate as in the South Asian studies at a reputable university, Princeton University, she teaches the courses on South Asian, Asian-American as well as Islamic studies there.
Saddaf might be the first American mayor who has a doctorate degree from Harvard and has specializes in the Islam, South Asian history and gender studies.
