The Inspiring Icon award has been given to 36-year-old Indian tennis pro Sania Mirza, who is also married to former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik.
Sania gave a brief remark after accepting the prize in which she thanked everyone for the success.
“I’m really grateful that you invited me here and gave me this award. As you can guess, a lot of decisions were made and a lot of things happened at once, so it’s been extremely emotional for me for a few months,” said Sania.
I am extremely grateful for this accomplishment and full of gratitude for everything I did during my 20-year journey, which concluded just way all good things do.
