Sara Javed Makes: History as Sindh’s First Chistrianw Deputy Commissioner

Sarah Javed has made history by becoming the first Christian Deputy Commissioner in Sindh, Pakistan. This is a big step forward for making the country’s civil service more inclusive and diverse. She has been appointed as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sanghar, taking over the position from Shehryar Gul, as confirmed by an official notification from the Sindh government.

Sarah passed the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam in 2014 and is part of the Pakistan Administrative Service. Over the years, she has served in many important roles. She worked as an Assistant Commissioner in various areas, including Saddar, the SITE industrial area, and Hyderabad. She also held the position of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-I) in Tharparkar. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she received national recognition for her hard work and dedication in managing the crisis.

Her recent appointment as Deputy Commissioner shows that the Sindh government is serious about giving more opportunities to people from minority communities. It reflects a positive change in how leadership roles in government are being opened up to people from all backgrounds. This move is being seen as a sign of progress and hope for a more inclusive and fair public service system in Pakistan.
