Saudi Arabia has temporarily stopped issuing Block Work Visas for citizens of 14 countries, including Pakistan. This suspension will remain in place until June 2025.
The countries affected by this decision are Pakistan, India, Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Yemen, and Morocco.
According to Saudi authorities, the step is part of a larger plan to better manage the large number of Hajj pilgrims and to improve overall travel arrangements. The Kingdom wants to avoid overcrowding and ensure that the Hajj pilgrimage and other travel services run smoothly.
Officials have hinted that this restriction may be eased after the Hajj season ends, but for now, it is in full effect.
In addition to stopping work visas, Saudi Arabia has also paused the issuance of several other types of visas for certain countries. These include Umrah visas, family visit visas, business visas, and tourist visas.
The decision is expected to impact many people, especially those planning to work or visit Saudi Arabia in the coming months. Travel agencies and companies depending on foreign workers from the affected countries may also face challenges due to this pause.
As the situation develops, travelers and employers are advised to stay updated with official announcements and make necessary adjustments to their plans.
The Saudi government’s main goal is to maintain order and efficiency in handling large-scale travel, especially during the busy Hajj season.
