Saudi Arabia to Host FIFA Club World Cup 2023

Saudi Arabia was chosen to host the 2023 Club World Cup in December, making this year the first big FIFA tournament it will host.

The FIFA Council overwhelmingly chose the Middle Eastern nation, which is drafting a bid to co-host the 2030 World Cup with Egypt and Greece.

“We are honoured and extremely thrilled to be given the opportunity to welcome the world’s greatest football clubs and their fans to Saudi Arabia,” Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, said.

Al Faisal referred to the nation’s success in the World Cup held in Qatar last year, which included a 2-1 group stage victory over Argentina.
